July Days

It is hard to believe that summer is almost over - we have enjoyed sharing times this summer with many dear friends. The cooler weather makes it very enjoyable.
This week-end we are enjoying watching the British Open being played at Turnberry in Scotland. We actually stayed at the hotel and played the golf course during our trip to the British Isles. The telecast brought back many fond memories!
It is also time to celebrate another birthday - we will spend the day in Asheville playing tourist...It is good to celebrate another one.

Lake Time

It is hard to believe it has been so long since I have updated my blog - we are now at the lake enjoying the cool weather. It is so peaceful and serene - if only the whole world could experience this feeling.
We are also enjoying the company of our grandson and his fiancee - what special bonding time for all of us. We welcome the new addition to our family come March 6, 2010!!

Milestones

We celebrated another milestone yesterday - our anniversary! Time has passed quickly and continues to do so but we are grateful for the years we have had.
There have been lots of challenges and many opportunities to grow in our relationship. It has been a wonderful life.
Thank you, husband, for putting up with me these many years. May God grant us many more together.

Friends

We have the opportunity to spend some time with old and dear friends during this last week. The kind that you instantly connect with no matter how long it has been since you last saw each other....just another one of "Life's Extras" (thanks, Archibald).

FAMILY

Today we spent lunch and sharing time with 12 of the first cousins( and spouses) in our family. The two remaining uncles shared and reminisced over family connections and times. I am so glad that our family wants to preserve their story for future generations. The gathering was video taped as well as audio recorded.
A loving, caring family is a wonderful security for today's world. We are blessed!

I just talked with my friend visiting in England - how wonderful to be able to stay in touch with friends. Technology enhances our lives in so many ways.

Sure is hard to watch college basketball! ACC is pretty strong - we are STRONG Clemson fans and pull hard for them.
